Speed Skating: an excellent family sport

Speed Skating is simply racing on ice.  Skaters try to see who can skate a measured course in the fastest time.  It's not a sport that requires a lot of study and understanding of complicated rules.

Kids love to skate! Kids love to race!

Speed Skating is a great family sport and a lifetime activity, which allows each individual to fulfill their own level of competition or challenge.

Regular practice session are divided into 4 groups (Cradles, Beginner,Intermediate and Senior).  Skaters are placed into groups depending on their age and ability.  Generally, group changes take place at the start of the season, although the coaches can make exceptions anytime they feel it is in a skater's best interest.
